The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has arrested former Minister of Power, Saleh Mamman, following his reported conviction-related legal troubles.
According to EFCC Chairman, Ola Olukoyede, the former minister was apprehended around 3:30 a.m. in Kaduna during an operation carried out by anti-graft operatives.
Reports indicate that Saleh Mamman was arrested alongside two individuals alleged to have been shielding or protecting him from law enforcement authorities. Details surrounding the identities of the two suspects and the specific circumstances of the operation have not yet been fully disclosed.
The arrest has generated fresh reactions across Nigeria’s political and legal circles, especially given the former minister’s previous involvement in corruption-related investigations linked to the power sector.

The EFCC has continued its campaign against corruption and financial crimes, with officials insisting that no individual found wanting would be above the law. Observers believe the latest arrest further highlights ongoing efforts by the anti-corruption agency to enforce accountability among public office holders.
