President Tinubu wins APC presidential primary with 10.9 million votes to emerge as the party’s candidate for the 2027 election.
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has emerged as the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress for the 2027 general election after recording a landslide victory in the party’s presidential primary election.
According to the results announced after the primary exercise, President Tinubu polled an overwhelming 10.9 million votes to defeat his challenger, Stanley Osifo, who secured 16,503 votes.
The outcome further strengthens Tinubu’s hold on the ruling party as he prepares to seek a second term in office under the APC platform. Party leaders and supporters reportedly hailed the process as a demonstration of unity and confidence in Tinubu’s leadership ahead of the next general elections.
Political observers believe the massive margin recorded in the primary election reflects the strong backing Tinubu continues to enjoy within the APC, despite growing debates over Nigeria’s political and economic direction.
