Abia Government Cancels May 2026 Environmental Sanitation Exercise
The Abia State Government has officially announced the cancellation of the Monthly Environmental Sanitation Exercise earlier scheduled to hold on Saturday, May 30, 2026.
In a statement issued by the Ministry of Environment, residents and members of the public were informed that there will be no restriction of movement across the state on the scheduled sanitation day. Citizens have therefore been advised to continue with their normal lawful, social, and economic activities without interruption.
Despite the cancellation of the exercise for May 2026, the Ministry emphasized the importance of maintaining proper environmental hygiene across the state. Residents were encouraged to continue observing good sanitation practices in their homes, offices, markets, shops, and business premises to promote a cleaner and healthier environment.
The government reiterated its commitment to environmental sustainability and public health, urging communities to remain proactive in waste disposal and cleanliness efforts.
The statement was signed by Obioma Chidinma Success, Public Relations Officer, on behalf of the Honourable Commissioner for Environment.
