19-Year-Old Blogger Arraigned in Lagos Over Alleged Defamatory Posts Against Tony Elumelu
A 19-year-old blogger has reportedly been arraigned before a Lagos court over alleged defamatory social media publications targeting the Chairman of the United Bank for Africa (UBA), Tony Elumelu.
The case follows growing concerns over the spread of false and damaging information on social media platforms in Nigeria. According to reports, the young blogger was accused of publishing content considered defamatory and harmful to the reputation of the prominent businessman and philanthropist.
The development comes weeks after UBA confirmed that several individuals had been arrested in connection with the circulation of false claims involving Tony Elumelu and his family.
