He urged them to make friends when lonely and only get married when they are ready to love, provide, and compromise.

He wrote: “Maybe you are just lonely, and the loneliness is making you think you need a spouse.

“Before scratching that marriage itch, try to get out more and make friends. A lot of times, you don’t really need a spouse. You may just need a friend.

“Don’t marry because you are lonely. Marry because you are ready to love and provide and compromise.

“And when you eventually meet someone, build the ensuing relationship on something a little deeper than sex. Because a relationship built solely on intercourse is precisely like a newspaper. As soon as you finish reading it, it loses its fascination. And by tomorrow, it will be replaced with the latest edition.”
