COMMUNIQUÉ ON THE GRASSROOTS ENDORSEMENT OF RT. HON. OBI AGUOCHA AND DR. ALEX OTTI, OFR, FOR THE 2027 GENERAL ELECTIONS

Yesterday, High Chief Okenze Kingsley I. Egwuatu, Chairman, Abia State Council of Community Chiefs and Village Heads, led members of the Council on a Grassroots Solidarity Visit to the residence of Rt. Hon. Obi Aguocha, Member representing Ikwuano/Umuahia North/Umuahia South Federal Constituency 

The visit was aimed at reaffirming the unwavering support of traditional leaders and grassroots stakeholders for the continued exemplary leadership and quality representation of Rt. Hon. Obi Aguocha, while also expressing their collective commitment to the re-election of His Excellency, Dr. Alex Otti, OFR, as Governor of Abia State in the 2027 General Elections.

During the meeting, participants commended Rt. Hon. Obi Aguocha for his people-oriented representation, accessibility, and dedication to the welfare and development of the constituency. They equally applauded the transformational leadership of Governor Dr. Alex Otti, whose administration has continued to restore confidence in governance across Abia State.

At the conclusion of the meeting, the following resolutions were unanimously adopted:

  1. That all community chiefs, village heads, and stakeholders across Ikwuano/Umuahia should intensify grassroots mobilization in support of the re-election of Rt. Hon. Obi Aguocha as Member representing Ikwuano/Umuahia North/Umuahia South Federal Constituency in 2027.
  2. That every available grassroots structure should be effectively utilized to ensure the overwhelming re-election of His Excellency, Dr. Alex Otti, OFR, as Governor of Abia State in the 2027 General Elections.
  3. That unity, peaceful engagement, and sustained community participation remain essential to achieving these collective aspirations for the continued progress and development of Abia State.

The meeting ended with prayers for God’s guidance, peace, and continued prosperity for Abia State and the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

The Abia State Council of Community Chiefs and Village Heads has thrown its weight behind the re-election bids of Rt. Hon. Obi Aguocha and Governor Alex Otti, OFR, ahead of the 2027 general elections, pledging to mobilise grassroots support across the state.

The endorsement was announced during a solidarity visit by members of the Council, led by its Chairman, High Chief Okenze Kingsley I. Egwuatu, to the residence of Rt. Hon. Obi Aguocha, who represents the Ikwuano/Umuahia North/Umuahia South Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives.

According to the traditional rulers, the visit was organised to reaffirm their confidence in Aguocha’s leadership and constituency representation while also expressing their collective support for Governor Alex Otti’s second-term bid in the 2027 governorship election.

The delegation praised Aguocha for what they described as people-centred representation, accessibility to constituents, and commitment to community development. They also commended Governor Otti’s administration, noting that his leadership has contributed to improved governance, infrastructure development, and renewed public confidence in Abia State.

At the end of the meeting, the Council unanimously adopted a communique outlining key resolutions aimed at strengthening grassroots political engagement ahead of the next general elections.

Among the resolutions was a call on community chiefs, village heads, and stakeholders throughout the Ikwuano/Umuahia axis to intensify grassroots mobilisation in support of Rt. Hon. Obi Aguocha’s re-election to the House of Representatives.

The Council also urged members to deploy every available community structure to support the re-election of Governor Alex Otti, expressing confidence in his administration’s development agenda and its impact on the state.

In addition, the traditional leaders emphasised the importance of unity, peaceful political participation, and sustained community involvement as vital ingredients for achieving continued progress and development in Abia State.

The meeting concluded with prayers for divine guidance, lasting peace, and continued prosperity for Abia State and the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
