The Vice Chancellor Michael Okpara University Umudike Prof Madu Ebibisiiwe Ofor has celebrated an impactful, progressive, purposeful, vision oriented and transformative four years in office which took place at the Senate Hall of the University.
His tenure has been characterized with success in all sectors of his administration.
Briefing the press he stated that to bring the institutions to a level of respect and dignity his administration has laid emphasis on infrastructural development, and the generation of revenue to boast up the IGR, to lift the standard of the institutions.
According to him to lift the school up to a level of prominence his mind was to drive and lead an entrepreneural institution.
The Vice Chancellor disclosed that they have succeeded in beafing up the estatics of the institution to an admirable and enviable status where any one can enjoy.
Our school canteen can compete favorably with any other where any one can relax and place his orders and it is satisfied.
They have revived the bouribond bread industry which is sold beyond Ikwuano and the student population, and the biscuit factory for the school is performing uptimally and the biscuit sold every where in the state.
The MOAU water factory has been established and has received NAFDAC Certification and the water sold and enjoyed in all nuck and crany of Abia and it’s enviroms, restored the Micro finance bank, and the University Patrol Station also on course, constructed the solar power station to provide adequate light for the University, established the solar drying facility to dry fish, meat etc.
Prof Ofor further revealed that all the courses lost have been brought back, and several centers have been activated such as center for Robotics, Entrepreneurship dev center, and a DNA moleculer Test Center also established, and they have restored a conducive ease of doing business in the University.
He also maintenaned that they have developed several diplomatic relationships with many universities in USA, India, and Asian countries for coloboration and partnership.
The journey for the opening of the Michael Okpara University of Agriculture Umudike permeant site Olori has commenced with the construction of several structures.
The administration of Prof Maduebibisi Iwe Ofor has achieved so much within the four years of his saddle, noted that he has completed all the projects abandoned by his predicessors, commenced new projects that will be completed before the end of his tenure.
According to the Prof any fund meant for any project must be utilized for the purpose noted that any project that could not be completed within his tenure, the fund for it must be reserved for the completion of the project, no body eats any project money he stated.
The highlight of the celebration was the certificate of credence given to him by the members of NUJ Abia State and guided tour of the University facilities and projects with the journalist lead by the Vice Chancellor.
