During the coroner’s inquest into the death of singer Mohbad, the nurse who administered injections on him before his passing detailed the events surrounding his final hours
She revealed that on September 11, 2023, she was in Cotonou processing her admission when she missed a call from Mohbad’s friend, Spending.

“I called him back, and he told me to come and treat his friend who had a cut. I told him I was just returning from Cotonou. Later, I missed more of his calls. When I reached CMS, DJ Bami called, saying he was from Spending. I couldn’t go to the house that day, but I arrived the next day at about 2:30 p.m.”
Upon arrival, she was led upstairs by DJ Bami, where she saw water on the floor, which he mopped before moving Mohbad to another room.
“It was just the four of us upstairs—me, Mohbad, DJ Bami, and Wunmi.”
Explaining the treatment she gave, she stated,
“As I was giving the first injection, Mohbad asked me what I was administering, and I told him: Tetanus Injection, Paracetamol Injection, and antibiotics. I first gave him the Tetanus and Paracetamol injections. After the Paracetamol injection, Wunmi mentioned that he had an ulcer.”
She continued,
“When I gave him the third injection, he started reacting, saying he wanted to throw up. DJ Bami and Wunmi helped him to the bathroom, where he vomited. After that, he sat on the floor, weak, with goosebumps appearing on his body. Wunmi told me this was how he usually reacted to injections. I told her she should have informed me earlier. She then said pouring water on his head would calm him down, and she did so.”
