The Nigeria Democratic Party (NDC) has unveiled its candidates for the 2027 elections in Abia State, presenting a broad list of contenders for the governorship, senatorial, federal constituency and state assembly positions.
Leading the party’s ticket are Chief Etugo Ndubuisi Ogah, who is listed as the governorship candidate, and Engr. Bright M. Alaribe, who is listed as his deputy governorship candidate.
The party’s senatorial candidates include Sen. Nkechi Nwogu for Abia Central Senatorial District, Rt. Hon. Uko Ndukwe Nkole for Abia North and Enyinnaya Kasarachi for Abia South.
For the House of Representatives contests, the NDC listed Dr. Evangeline Iwenjiora for Isuikwuato/Umunneochi, Pascal Karibe Ojigwe for Bende, Engr. Stanley Uche for Ikwuano/Umuahia, Ifeanyi Ognonna for Arochukwu/Ohafia, and Ugorji Chikezie J. for Isiala Ngwa North/South.
Other federal constituency candidates named by the party are Oforji Chimene for Ukwa East/West, Hon. ThankGod for Aba North/South and Pastor David Orum for Aba Central.
The party also unveiled candidates for various state constituencies across Abia. The names provided include Ezigbo Fidelis N., Hilary Chukwubuike G., Maduabuchi Ejimonu, Chinedu O. Ijoma for Arochukwu, Bar. Jonas O. Udensi for Bende North and Emeka Philip for Bende South.
Others include Dr. Kalu Chukwuemeka Israel for Ikwuano, Matthew Roland for Isiala Ngwa North, Agrippa Michael C. for Isiala Ngwa South, Victor Chinyere Okoronkwo for Isuikwuato, Oscar E. Ojoghu for Obingwa East and Alozie O. Darlington.
The list further includes Comrade Obrian Iro for Ohafia North, Chidi U. Igwe for Ohafia South, Edward C. Ferdinand for Osisioma North, Standhope Akoma for Osisioma South, Prince Victor Alozie for Ugwunagbo and Ekeke Chiarizolam for Ukwa East.
For the Umuahia constituencies, the party listed Chinedu Obilor for Umuahia Central, Nwakudo Kelechi for Umuahia East, Uchechukwu D. Udeji for Umuahia North and Bar. Maduakolam Oleka for Umuahia South. Chinyere Victor Okoronkwo and Hon. Eze Chikamnayo were also included in the announced list, with the latter listed for Umunneochi.
The unveiling signals the party’s preparations for the 2027 electoral contest in Abia State as political activities and grassroots mobilisation continue to gather momentum ahead of the elections.
In its message to party members, supporters and affiliated support groups, the NDC leadership called for unity and stronger cooperation among its various structures.
The leadership also urged supporters to intensify grassroots mobilisation across the state, strengthen engagement with voters and work collectively towards the party’s objectives ahead of the 2027 elections.

With candidates announced across several levels of government, attention is now expected to shift towards broader mobilisation, constituency-level engagement and the development of campaign structures across Abia State.
