Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s 2023 presidential candidate, has called on Nigerians to stay united and focused ahead of the 2027 elections.

He asked citizens to remain peaceful and determined as the country moves closer to another election year.

Speaking during a late-night XSpace conversation with supporters, Obi said Nigeria needs honest leadership and strong institutions.

He stressed the importance of making every vote count, just like people in other countries have fought to protect their democracy.

Obi addressed questions about his role in a possible opposition coalition.

He confirmed he has always been involved in meetings, even if he does not appear in public often.

He said the coalition is still developing and that the goal is to support one candidate who can serve Nigeria best.

He made it clear that he is not insisting on being the presidential candidate in 2027.

According to him, the focus should be on finding the right person for the job, not on personal ambition.

He added that trust and purpose are key for any successful coalition.

Obi also talked about insecurity and agriculture, especially in northern Nigeria.

He said that peace and security must come first, and only then can agriculture grow.

He promised that good policies and proper investment would follow if the country is safe.

He referred to his time as governor of Anambra, saying the state once enjoyed five years of strong security under his leadership.

He believes the current leaders are not doing enough to protect Nigerians.

Obi warned that the mistakes of 2023 must not happen again.

He said Nigerians would be better prepared in 2027 and would demand free and fair elections.

“We must insist that our votes count. Others around the world fought for it, and it worked. We must do the same.”

“I attend all meetings unless I’m out of the country. I don’t grandstand, but I’m part of the process.”

“We will not let what happened in 2023 repeat. We will insist on electoral credibility. We will organise, not agonise,” he assured.
