The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has released the first batch of results for candidates who participated in the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), with a total of 632,788 candidates from day one now able to access their scores.
In an official statement signed by JAMB’s Public Communication Advisor, Fabian Benjamin, the board confirmed that the results correspond to candidates who sat for the exam on Thursday, April 16, 2026, marking the beginning of this year’s nationwide UTME exercise.
How to Check Your 2026 JAMB Result
Candidates can easily check their results by sending “UTMERESULT” via SMS to 55019 or 66019 using the same phone number used during registration.
For now, JAMB clarified that candidates can only view their results, as the printing of official result slips will be enabled at a later stage.
Warning Against Result Manipulation
JAMB has issued a strong warning against any attempt to alter or falsify results obtained through its official SMS channels. According to the board, such actions are considered a serious criminal offence and will attract strict legal consequences.
The board also disclosed that two candidates and one parent have already been arrested for allegedly manipulating UTME results using artificial intelligence and other digital tools. Authorities say investigations are ongoing, and anyone found guilty will be prosecuted accordingly.
More Results to Be Released
The examination process is still ongoing across accredited Computer-Based Test (CBT) centres nationwide. JAMB assured candidates that additional results will be released in batches as marking and verification continue.
Candidates are advised to remain patient and rely only on official JAMB channels for accurate information regarding their results.
