BREAKING: Former Senator Announces Exit from APC, Begins 31-Day Prayer for Political Direction

Former Adamawa North Senator, Elisha Abbo, has revealed his decision to part ways with the All Progressives Congress (APC), signaling a new phase in his political journey.

Abbo, who represented Adamawa North Senatorial District in the 10th National Assembly, disclosed his plans in a post on X (formerly Twitter) on Friday. He noted that choosing the right political platform has been a challenging decision and explained why he is turning to God for guidance this time.

The lawmaker recalled how he left the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in 2020 to join the APC, stating that he made that move purely on instincts and personal conviction without seeking divine direction.

“In 2020, I left PDP for APC without praying or asking for God’s direction. I joined APC out of human judgment and to flow with the tide,” Abbo wrote.

However, the former senator stressed that he has now chosen a different path. According to him, he has embarked on a 31-day fasting and prayer program to seek God’s guidance on his political future and other personal matters.

Abbo assured his supporters that a formal announcement would be made in the coming weeks after completing consultations with his constituents.

“This time around, I have undertaken 31 days of fasting and prayer, asking God for direction. In a few weeks, I will issue an official statement after consulting with my people on what the spirit has revealed to me,” he added.

He emphasized that unlike in the past, he would no longer rely on emotions, instincts, or public opinion but on divine instruction and careful negotiation.

Abbo ended his message with a spiritual reflection, extending goodwill to Muslim faithful as they observed Jumaat prayers, reminding them of the shared ancestry between Prophet Ishmael and Prophet Isaac as children of Abraham.

His announcement has generated conversations across political and religious circles, with many awaiting the outcome of his prayer and fasting period to see which political party he will eventually align with.
