Gen. Musa shocks Nigerians, revealing no soldier earns below ₦100,000, as Tinubu intensifies efforts to boost military welfare and frontline support.

In a bold disclosure that has sparked nationwide attention, the Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), General Christopher Musa, has revealed that no soldier in Nigeria earns below ₦100,000. This comes amid rising concerns over inflation, economic hardship, and the sacrifices of military personnel on the frontlines.

General Musa made this revelation during an interview with News Central on Thursday, September 4, stressing that the military is fully committed to improving the welfare of its personnel.

“Then, a soldier was receiving about ₦49,000 monthly. Now, no soldier earns less than ₦100,000. Though it may still appear small, it is far better than before, and I know Mr. President is working towards further improvement,” Musa stated.

The Defence Chief added that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is making deliberate efforts to ensure that the welfare of Nigerian soldiers remains a top priority.

He also noted that military personnel no longer complain of unpaid allowances or salary delays, challenges that plagued the system in previous years.

On the welfare of soldiers fighting on the frontlines against banditry and insurgency, General Musa emphasized that the Armed Forces go the extra mile to ensure they are adequately catered for.

“Sometimes, soldiers in certain terrains face challenges with food supply. We constantly follow up to make sure they are well-fed, even if it requires special arrangements. Averagely, their feeding is not bad,” he added.

With this revelation, the Defence Chief has reaffirmed the government’s commitment to prioritizing soldiers’ welfare, as they continue to sacrifice their lives in the fight against insecurity.
