The Federal Ministry of Education has announced the full digitisation of the authentication and evaluation process for academic credentials, marking a major shift toward improved transparency and service delivery in the education sector.

In a press statement dated April 15, 2026, the Ministry revealed that the new system is part of the Federal Government’s broader digital transformation agenda aimed at enhancing data management, ensuring integrity, and promoting evidence-based policymaking.

With the rollout of this automated platform, all applications for credential authentication and evaluation will now be handled exclusively online. Applicants are required to register and submit their documents through the Ministry’s official verification portal.

The Ministry also directed applicants to contact their respective institutions to have official academic transcripts sent directly from the institutions’ verified email addresses to the designated Ministry email for processing.

Officials emphasized that physical visits to the Ministry for credential verification are no longer necessary, as the entire process has been streamlined into a digital format. This transition is expected to reduce processing time, eliminate bureaucratic delays, and strengthen the credibility of academic verification procedures across Nigeria.
