Aba business leaders fund Security Trust as Tinubu to commission Port Harcourt Road and six others on October 3.

In a major boost to public safety and infrastructure development, members of the Aba business community have raised millions of naira to support Governor Alex Otti’s Security Trust Fund. The initiative aims to strengthen security measures across Abia State and ensure a safer environment for businesses and residents alike.

Speaking during the Aba Stakeholders Security Trust Fundraising Luncheon at the Aba Sports Club on September 11, Governor Otti emphasized that security remains the backbone of development in Abia. He reassured stakeholders that every kobo contributed would be transparently managed.

“Security is at the heart of everything we are doing. Not one kobo of this fund will go missing under my watch,” Governor Otti stated.

The governor thanked the Aba business community, friends, and supporters of the “New Abia Project,” promising that their trust would not be taken for granted.

Governor Otti also made a landmark announcement: President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will commission the reconstructed Port Harcourt Road in Aba on October 3, alongside six other newly completed roads. He further disclosed that the state government has finalized agreements with Radisson Blu to commence work on the Enyimba Hotel project, signaling a major push to revive Aba’s hospitality and tourism industry.

The governor urged all Abians to participate actively in the ongoing voter registration exercise to ensure their voices are heard during the 2027 general elections.

Business leaders present, including Chief Leo Ike Okoye (Chairman of the occasion), Ide John Udeagbala, and Mazi Jude Nwosu, commended the governor’s leadership and pledged continued support. They emphasized that securing Aba’s future requires collective effort from both government and the private sector.

The event was attended by key political and community figures, including Senator Darlington Nwokocha, Hon. Obi Aguocha, Hon. Steven Ucheonye Akachukwu, Hon. Aaron Uzodike, Pastor Caleb Ajagba, the Mayors of Aba North and Aba South, and other top government officials.

With public-private collaboration driving security and infrastructure renewal, Aba appears poised to reclaim its position as the commercial hub of the Southeast.
