Nigeria has marked a major milestone in maritime defense with the unveiling of NNS Oji, a state-of-the-art naval vessel designed and built entirely in-country. Constructed at the Naval Dockyard Limited in Lagos, this ship highlights the growing capacity of Nigerian engineers to deliver advanced defense technology without relying solely on foreign expertise.

The NNS Oji was built exclusively by Nigerian Navy engineers, reflecting years of investment in training, shipbuilding infrastructure, and indigenous technical innovation. This achievement is part of the Navy’s broader strategy to enhance maritime security, protect the nation’s territorial waters, and promote local content development.
