In a gesture of unity, friendship, and respect, Hon. Obi Aguocha, Member representing Umuahia/Ikwuano Federal Constituency at the House of Representatives, Abuja, recently paid a warm private visit to the family of Sir JohnPedro Nnamdi Irokansi, Ph.D (popularly known as Agawa Akpoturu), the dynamic Clerk of the Abia State House of Assembly.
The meeting, which took place at the serene country home of the Irokansi family, underscored the growing synergy between federal and state leaders in Abia State. Hon. Aguocha’s visit not only celebrated personal bonds but also reaffirmed the importance of grassroots connections and community service.
Sir JohnPedro Nnamdi Irokansi is widely regarded as one of the most innovative administrators within the Abia State House of Assembly, bringing professionalism and efficiency to legislative processes. His wife, Lady Mary Ify JohnPedro, Ph.D, MNIM, ACIPM — the Ezenwanyi of Ugba and Afarata Ancient Kingdom, Ibeku — is equally renowned for her leadership and community empowerment initiatives. Together, they embody a tradition of excellence, philanthropy, and service.
The visit was graced by several notable personalities including Hon. Chinasa Anthony, Member representing Umuahia Central State Constituency at the Abia State House of Assembly; Chief Charles Ogbonnaya (Evuleogu Ibeku); Barr. Emeka Chionye; Noble Lady Agnes Nwosu; and members of the extended Irokansi family.
Speaking during the private visit, Hon. Obi Aguocha emphasized that the occasion was strictly personal but could not help expressing heartfelt gratitude to God for the life and achievements of Sir JohnPedro and Lady Mary. He described the family as “gracious, inspiring, and a shining example of leadership and service to society.”
