Abia State Governor, Dr. Alex Otti, has announced a bold initiative to transform the historic Ojukwu Bunker and War Museum in Umuahia into a world-class tourism destination. This move is part of his administration’s broader strategy to revive Abia State’s cultural heritage and boost its economy through tourism.

The Ojukwu Bunker, a landmark site from the Nigerian Civil War, holds immense historical significance as the underground military command center of the then-Biafran government. The proposed upgrade aims to modernize the facility, improve infrastructure, and create a vibrant visitor experience that showcases the region’s history while attracting both local and international tourists.
