Massive Turnout as Over 6.2 Million Nigerians Pre-Register for INEC PVCs in Six Weeks; Abia at the Lowest

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has recorded an unprecedented surge in online voter pre-registration, with more than 6.2 million Nigerians signing up for their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) within just six weeks of the exercise.

According to official data, states across the country have shown varying levels of participation. Borno State leads the registration chart with 682,805 applications, followed by Osun (599,363) and Lagos (555,442). Other states with high figures include Kebbi (472,662), Ogun (450,897), and Kaduna (376,054).

States such as Kogi, Kano, and Yobe also recorded significant numbers, while smaller states like Enugu (5,092) and Abia (5,225) reflected comparatively lower turnout.

Top 5 States by Registration:

  1. Borno – 682,805

States with Lowest Registration Figures:

Enugu – 5,092

Abia – 5,225

Ebonyi – 6,935

Edo – 10,278

Ondo – 14,388
