As the world celebrates World Teachers’ Day 2025, the Member representing Ikwuano/Umuahia North and Umuahia South Federal Constituency, Hon. Obi Aguocha, has joined millions across the globe in saluting the unwavering dedication of teachers who continue to shape minds and build nations.
In a heartfelt message released on Sunday, Hon. Aguocha described teachers as the “foundation of national development and the true custodians of knowledge.” He acknowledged their tireless efforts, resilience, and sacrifices in nurturing future leaders despite the numerous challenges confronting the education sector in Nigeria.

Hon. Aguocha also praised the Governor of Abia State, Dr. Alex Otti, for his visionary leadership in transforming the state’s education system. He lauded the governor’s recent recruitment of 5,000 new teachers and his commitment to the prompt payment of salaries, describing it as “a shining example of responsible governance and respect for the teaching profession.”
