Governor Soludo limits Anambra traffic fines to ₦10,000 maximum starting October 14, 2025, to promote fairness and curb exploitation of motorists.

Anambra State Governor, Prof. Chukwuma Charles Soludo, has announced that beginning October 14, 2025, the maximum fine for any traffic offence within the state will be ₦10,000, irrespective of the nature of the violation.

Governor Soludo made the announcement as part of his administration’s efforts to promote fairness, accountability, and transparency in traffic management. The new directive aims to prevent the exploitation of motorists and ensure uniformity in the enforcement of traffic laws.

According to the governor, the reform is designed to curb arbitrary fines often imposed by traffic officials and to simplify the penalty process for offenders. He emphasized that while maintaining order on the roads remains a priority, the government must also protect citizens from excessive penalties and corruption.

The move has been welcomed by many Anambra residents and transport unions, who view it as a step toward a more just and people-friendly traffic system.

The Soludo administration continues to champion reforms across various sectors, including transportation, education, and infrastructure, to build a “liveable and prosperous homeland” for all residents of Anambra State.
