Former Rivers State Governor and current Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has expressed his satisfaction over the recent wave of defections by some Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governors to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
Speaking on Tuesday, Wike noted that he has been quietly observing developments within the political landscape and the actions of certain politicians who once accused him of plotting against the PDP.
“I’m very happy, and very soon I will speak to Nigerians. I have been watching on daily television and social media people who said I wanted to destabilize the party and that I was working for the APC. All of them are now in the APC,” Wike stated.
The FCT Minister’s comments come amid growing realignments in Nigeria’s political space, as several key figures from the opposition have switched allegiance to the ruling party. Wike, who has long been a dominant voice in the PDP, appeared to take a subtle jab at his critics, hinting that the unfolding events vindicate his earlier stance.

Political observers believe Wike’s statement signals a forthcoming public address that could shed more light on his political direction and the internal dynamics of the PDP.
