The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has reaffirmed his unwavering support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, popularly known as Asiwaju, describing him as the political leader to follow.

Speaking during a public event, Wike stated:

“If you are supporting Asiwaju, I’m going to support you. Anywhere you are, if you know you have not changed your mind, you better change your mind because very soon, there will be a political tsunami. It’s Asiwaju all the way.”

The FCT Minister’s remarks have drawn wide attention across Nigeria’s political sphere, with analysts describing them as a strong declaration of loyalty and continued alignment with President Tinubu’s administration.

Wike, who has been a prominent political figure since his tenure as Rivers State Governor, has maintained that his decision to support the current administration is based on national interest and a commitment to effective governance.

Observers believe that his recent statement signals a deepening of political alliances and could influence realignments within the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and beyond, especially ahead of future elections.

Wike’s emphasis on a “political tsunami” is seen by many as a metaphor for a possible wave of political consolidation under Tinubu’s leadership, as the government continues its efforts to deliver on key policy promises.
