A Magistrate Court in Abuja has granted bail to prominent human rights activist and Sahara Reporters publisher, Omoyele Sowore, alongside Barrister Aloy Ejimakor, one of the legal representatives of the detained leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu, and 11 other protesters.
The group had been arrested during a peaceful demonstration calling for the release of Nnamdi Kanu, who has been in custody facing terrorism-related charges. The protest, tagged #FreeNnamdiKanu, was held in Abuja and drew attention from several civil rights groups and pro-democracy activists.
