Federal High Court refutes false report of an assassination attempt on Justice Omotosho, calling the viral claim fake news.
The Federal High Court (FHC) has officially dismissed as false a trending report alleging that Justice James Omotosho survived an assassination attempt following his ruling that resulted in a life sentence for Nnamdi Kanu.
In a statement released on Sunday, the court described the claim as “pure fabrication” created to mislead the public and fuel unnecessary tension around ongoing judicial proceedings. According to the FHC, no attack, threat, or security breach involving Justice Omotosho occurred at any time.
Court officials urged Nigerians to disregard the report, warning that the deliberate spread of misinformation particularly about judges and sensitive cases poses a serious danger to public confidence in the judiciary.
The statement reiterated that Justice Omotosho remains safe and continues to perform his judicial duties without incident.
