Bola Tinubu has submitted a new nomination to the Senate for Federal Character Commission (FCC), naming Victor Ikeji as the commissioner representing Abia State replacing Obinna Oriaku.
The President’s letter read by Godswill Akpabio during Thursday’s plenary session of the Senate cited Section 154(1) of the 1999 Constitution (as amended) as the basis for the nomination.
Ikeji’s nomination will take effect upon Senate confirmation. The Senate President referred the letter to the Committee on Federal Character and Inter-Governmental Relations, instructing the panel to report back within one week.
