Tinubu nominates Dr. Victor Ikeji as Abia’s Federal Character Commissioner; Chief Uchechukwu Udeji commends the appointment pending Senate confirmation.

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has nominated Dr. Victor Ikeji as the Federal Character Commissioner representing Abia State, pending approval by the Senate. The nomination signifies a major shift in the leadership of Abia’s representation at the Federal Character Commission (FCC), an agency responsible for promoting equity in federal appointments and resource allocation.

Dr. Ikeji, a respected scholar and public affairs commentator, is expected to succeed the outgoing commissioner, ushering in a new phase of leadership and participation in national governance. His nomination has attracted attention across Abia State, with many expressing optimism about his capacity to deliver effective representation.

Prominent community leader, Chief Uchechukwu Udeji, popularly known as Nwa Ghana, has congratulated Dr. Ikeji on his appointment. In his reaction, he lauded President Tinubu for selecting a nominee with intellectual depth and administrative experience, emphasizing that Dr. Ikeji’s appointment reflects confidence in his ability to serve the state and the nation.

Udeji further expressed hope that the new appointee will use the role to promote equitable inclusion for Abia State in key federal sectors, especially employment, scholarship opportunities, and political appointments.

Political observers have noted that President Tinubu’s decision aligns with his broader effort to reassess federal appointments and ensure qualified individuals occupy critical positions. They argue that Dr. Ikeji’s expertise provides an opportunity for Abia to strengthen its presence and benefit more strategically from national programs.
