Umuahia the capital city witnessed a convergence of the group members of Better Abia Movement where they held their general meeting and New year gathering to familiarize with the new members across Abia. The meeting held at New Eastern Comfort Hotel Umuahia witnessed the presence of many Abia voters and business owners including personalities like the MD CEO Mela Concepts Aba, State Youth Leader OHANAEZE NDI IGBO Abia State chapter, medical, Legal and notable Public administrators & professionals who graced the meeting.
On the highlights of the meeting are ways to expand the wings of the group to the nooks and crannies of Abia and sustaining the objectives of the Better Abia Movement for a better Abia society, Ratifying the Leadership of the group in the 17 LGAs, passing of Vote of Confidence on Governor Alex Otti, the group working on project proposals the group intends to recommend to the State government so as to join hands in achieving a more better Abia society while seeking for a growth in per capita income of every hardworking person in the state either as non indigenes or indigenes,, establishing and ratifying the Action Committee of the group as a usual Limited cooperative Union, presentation of the group new Logo as against the name used before 2023, promoting the welfare of the Union members, energizing the promotion of our members individual businesses. Other Highlights were the achievements of the Union since 2021 when it was birthed as ordinary social group platform. Members used the opportunity of the gathering to interact with the heads of the group and familiarize themselves with members and Leaders from the 17 LGAs of Abia. Refreshments took place as New Year prayers were offered for the group and her members and expectations for more service delivery were noted by the admins of the group.
The Head Admin and the President of the Union in Abia Comrade Ihunweze Ifeanyi reiterated the need for all to be carried along and cautioned that sabotage will not be entertained forthwith as the Union is for the interest of the entire members and not for any individual. He promised to take the Union to a greater height especially as we have entered a newer Year.
The gathering was a room to thank the Abia Governor, Dr. Alex Otti and the 17LGAs New Mayors on the already made progress such as in Environmental protection, Road infrastructures, Government buildings retrofitting, Security advancement, State IGR Improvements, and called that focus to be energized in areas of healthcare projects monitoring, Job creation and educational projects monitoring for an attractive Abia environment.
The President cum the Group Coordinator of the Union Comrade Ihunweze Ifeanyichukwu did not forget to remind all Abia residents to support the new Abia Government by ensuring that they comply with paying their individual taxes for that high expectations people have for the Government.
