The Governor of Abia State, Dr. Alex Otti, has reiterated his administration’s commitment to fairness and due process in the lead-up to the 2027 general elections, stating clearly that no political ticket will be handed to any individual by default.
Speaking from his country home in Nvosi, Aba, the governor emphasized that the ruling Labour Party will strictly follow established principles of zoning and uphold the rule of law in selecting candidates.
Governor Otti stressed that candidates for elective positions will emerge through transparent and democratic processes involving grassroots participation and key party stakeholders. According to him, the voices of the people will remain central to all political decisions.
He further noted that his administration is committed to strengthening internal democracy, especially in the selection of representatives for the State House of Assembly in 2027.
“The will of the people remains supreme. We will continue to work closely with grassroots stakeholders and support candidates chosen by the people,” the governor stated.

Reaffirming his stance on good governance, Otti added that his government will continue to promote equity, transparency, and inclusiveness across all political structures in the state.
