APC Chairman Explains Delay in Screening Governors Fubara, AbdulRahman, and Nwifuru

The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Nentawe Yilwatda, has explained why the governors of Rivers, Kwara, and Ebonyi states are yet to undergo the party’s screening process.

Speaking on the matter, Yilwatda stated that the affected governors had informed the party leadership that they were occupied with official responsibilities and could not attend the screening exercise at the scheduled time.

According to him, the APC leadership decided to excuse the governors based on their requests and ongoing state engagements.

“The Governor of Kwara said he has issues to attend to, so we excused him. The Governor of Ebonyi said he has issues to attend to, so we excused him. The Governor of Rivers said he has issues to attend to, so we excused him,” Yilwatda said.

The governors involved include Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers State, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq of Kwara State, and Francis Nwifuru of Ebonyi State.

The development has generated political reactions, especially amid ongoing discussions surrounding internal party consultations and preparations ahead of future political activities within the APC.

Political observers believe the postponement of the screening process may be linked to the governors’ official schedules and strategic consultations within their respective states. However, the APC leadership has maintained that the delay is not unusual and that the affected governors remain fully engaged with the party.
