Hon. Obi Aguocha praises Gov. Alex Otti for transforming Abia State’s health, environment, and human development sectors, calling him “a governor with results.”
The Member representing Ikwuano/Umuahia North and South Federal Constituency, Hon. Obi Aguocha, has hailed Abia State Governor, Dr. Alex Otti, for his remarkable achievements in health, environment, and human development describing him as “a governor with results, not excuses.”
Aguocha’s commendation follows the 2025 SBM Health Preparedness Index Report, which ranked Abia State as the most prepared in Nigeria for health emergencies. According to the report, Abia achieved an impressive 26.85 points, driven by a record ₦22,926 health expenditure per capita, a 14.8% budget allocation to healthcare, and an HDI score of 0.674, one of the highest in the country.

Speaking on the development, Hon. Aguocha said the recognition reflects Governor Otti’s commitment to transparency, discipline, and accountability in governance.
“Governor Alex Otti has changed the narrative of leadership in Abia. He came with a clear vision to rebuild our state, and today, the results are visible,” Aguocha noted.
“Abia now leads the nation in health preparedness, environmental reform, and human development. This is what good governance looks like real impact in the lives of ordinary people.”
Aguocha highlighted the recent recruitment of 33 new medical consultants approved by the Otti administration as a major step towards improving healthcare access and delivery across the state.
He also commended ongoing environmental and infrastructural initiatives, including the deployment of 100 new waste bins by the Abia State Environmental Protection Agency (ASEPA) and 48 direct-labour road maintenance projects currently handled by the Ministry of Works.
“What we are seeing in Abia today is a government that works one that plans, executes, and delivers,” Aguocha said.
“From community roads to city waste management, Dr. Otti has shown that leadership is about results, not rhetoric.”
The federal lawmaker emphasized that the Otti administration’s developmental strides align with his own legislative vision for inclusive growth, sustainable infrastructure, and citizen welfare.
“For years, our people prayed for a government that listens, acts, and delivers — and today, we have that in Governor Alex Otti,” Aguocha added.
“His performance has raised the bar for leadership in Abia and beyond. We now have a template for progress that others can learn from.”
He urged citizens to continue supporting the administration to sustain the momentum of reform, stressing that unity between the executive and legislature is vital for continued development.
“Abia’s success is our collective victory,” he concluded. “When government leads with integrity and the people give their support, progress becomes inevitable. Governor Otti has truly proven to be a governor with results.”
