Abia Assembly Passes Vote of Confidence on Governor Alex Otti for Transformative Leadership

The Abia State House of Assembly has unanimously passed a vote of implicit confidence on the Governor of Abia State, Dr. Alex Chioma Otti (OFR), in recognition of his visionary leadership and outstanding developmental strides across the state.

In a resolution dated October 14, 2025, and addressed to the Governor through the Office of the Clerk of the House, the Assembly commended Otti’s transformative governance model, which has significantly improved infrastructure, education, healthcare, and security in Abia State.

According to the letter signed by Sir Johnpedro Irokansi (PhD), Clerk and Head of Legislative Service, the lawmakers expressed deep satisfaction with the progress achieved under Governor Otti’s administration. They particularly lauded the reconstruction of the six-lane Port Harcourt Road in Aba and the remodeling of the Dr. Michael Okpara Auditorium in Umuahia, which was recently commissioned by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR.

The Assembly described these projects as evidence of the Governor’s dedication to transforming Abia into a model state for sustainable development and economic growth.

“The House commends your visionary leadership and dedication to a reformed Abia,” the resolution stated. “We reaffirm our support for your administration and assure you of continued collaboration to ensure the success of your policies and programmes.”

This latest endorsement reflects the Assembly’s confidence in Otti’s political direction and its alignment with his vision of restoring Abia’s pride through transparency, accountability, and people-oriented governance.
