Abia State Government Opens 2025 Teachers Recruitment Portal – Apply Now

The Abia State Government, through the Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education, has officially announced the commencement of the second batch of the 2025 teachers’ recruitment exercise.

According to the notice released by the Ministry, the application portal will be open from November 6 to November 19, 2025. Interested candidates are encouraged to apply online within the two-week period.

Application Process

Applicants are required to complete their application online at no cost through the official website of the Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education: www.mobse-abiastategov.ng.

Shortlisted candidates will be notified via SMS and/or email and invited to participate in a Computer-Based Test (CBT). Only those who pass the CBT will proceed to the oral interview stage.

Eligibility and Pre-Qualification Criteria

To be eligible for the recruitment, applicants must meet the following criteria:

Age Requirement: Candidates must be below 45 years of age as of December 31, 2025.

Educational Qualification: Applicants should possess at least an NCE, Bachelor’s Degree, Master’s, or Ph.D. in relevant disciplines.

Residency: Both Abians and non-Abians residing in Abia State are eligible to apply.

Special Needs: Persons with disabilities may apply, provided they hold relevant qualifications in Special Needs Education.

Accurate Documentation: Applicants are advised to upload their highest academic qualification and ensure all records are correctly filled out.

Name Consistency: The name used during application cannot be changed at any stage of the recruitment.

Teaching Qualification: Candidates without teaching credentials may still apply but will be required to obtain the necessary certification within two years as a condition for appointment confirmation.

The Ministry stated that the recruitment aims to fill existing teacher shortages, especially in rural and riverine communities across the state.
