The Governor said that the formal signing of the MOU marks a turning point in the socio-economic development of the State as the company would commence the survey of the whole State immediately for the purpose of implementing the project in line with the terms of the MOU.

According to the Governor, the internet connectivity would affect the educational, health and other institutions positively. He noted that the investment would equally impact network operators whose services would now be felt in villages and communities with high connectivity spots and provide direct and indirect employments to our teeming youths.

The State Chief Executive also noted that the investment would help in the electronic transmission of files in healthcare, civil service, education including corperate governance and described the development as a positive step towards a progressive and flourishing Abia.

He lauded the WIOCC Group as one of the reputable companies in Africa with the Infrastructure for Internet connectivity and thanked them for considering to partner with Abia state for the Project.

Earlier, the Chief Executive and Development Officer of WIOCC Group, Mr. Derren Bredford said that aside from Lagos where they have done remarkable work, the company considered Abia for the investment having seen the dynamism and innovation that Governor Otti has brought into the State. He said that they are willing for the partnership which would ensure internet connectivity across the State and generate over 1,000 direct jobs with a potential for thousands of indirects jobs.

The WIOCC Group was led to the Governor by the General Overseer of Omega Ministries, HRM. Apostle Chibuzo Gift.
