Hon. Obi Aguocha urges Justice Omotosho to show mercy and grant clemency to Nnamdi Kanu during sentencing, calling for peace and national reconciliation.

Hon. Obi Aguocha, the federal lawmaker representing the Ikwuano/Umuahia North/Umuahia South Federal Constituency, has appealed for leniency in the sentencing of Nnamdi Kanu.
During the proceedings before Justice James Omotosho of the Federal High Court, Aguocha urged the court to consider a compassionate approach, emphasizing the broader implications of the judgment on peace, unity, and national cohesion.

According to the legislator, a merciful decision would not only help ease tensions across the Southeast but also open avenues for dialogue and reconciliation. He highlighted the need for a justice system that balances the rule of law with humanitarian considerations, especially in cases with significant social and political impact.
