Al-Qalam University student holds 7-day prayer for President Tinubu to keep Vice President Shettima as running mate in the 2027 elections.
In Katsina State, a 200-level Political Science student of Al-Qalam University, Mohammed Yakubu, has initiated a seven-day prayer session for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. The purpose of the prayer is to seek divine intervention for the President to retain Vice President Kashim Shettima as his running mate in the 2027 general elections.
Yakubu, who described his action as a patriotic duty, explained that he believes the Tinubu-Shettima partnership remains the best political pairing to sustain Nigeria’s development. According to him, continuity in leadership will provide the stability needed for ongoing reforms to yield results.

The student further urged Nigerians to support the administration rather than sow discord. He emphasized that the prayers are not politically motivated but are centered on national unity and progress.
While Yakubu’s initiative has drawn mixed reactions, with some commending his devotion and others questioning the necessity of such a move, it highlights the growing interest of young Nigerians in shaping the country’s political direction ahead of 2027.
