APC Chairman Nentawe Yilwatda says the ruling party is open to welcoming former NNPP presidential candidate Rabiu Kwankwaso.
The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Professor Nentawe Yilwatda, has stated that the ruling party remains open to welcoming the former presidential candidate of the New Nigerian Peoples Party (NNPP), Senator Rabi’u Musa Kwankwaso.
Speaking on the evolving political landscape ahead of future elections, Yilwatda emphasized that the APC operates as an inclusive political platform that accommodates individuals and groups willing to contribute to national development. According to him, the party does not shut its doors to influential political figures who share similar democratic values and governance ideals.
He noted that Kwankwaso, a former governor of Kano State and a prominent political figure in the North, remains a respected stakeholder whose experience could add value to any political party he chooses to align with. While stressing that no formal discussions have been concluded, the APC chairman made it clear that the party is always receptive to strategic alliances that strengthen democracy and unity.
Yilwatda further explained that the APC’s focus remains on consolidating its structures, improving governance, and expanding its reach across the country. He added that any potential defection or collaboration would follow due process and align with the party’s constitution and vision.
