APC restructures its 2026 National Convention committee, appoints Aminu Masari as chairman and reassigns Governor Uzodimma as treasurer.
The All Progressives Congress (APC) has announced a major shake-up in the leadership of its 2026 National Convention Central Coordination Committee, appointing former Katsina State Governor, Aminu Bello Masari, as the new chairman.
Governor Hope Uzodimma of Imo State, who was earlier selected to lead the committee, has been reassigned to the position of treasurer following the party’s internal review of the convention’s organizational structure.
In a related development, the ruling party has expanded the size of the committee from 73 to 90 members. The move is aimed at broadening participation and ensuring wider inclusion of party stakeholders ahead of the crucial national convention.
Among the newly inducted members is Senator Barry Mpigi, alongside several other notable APC figures drawn from different regions of the country.

Party sources explained that the restructuring aligns with zoning principles and emerging strategic needs within the APC, as preparations intensify for the 2026 National Convention. The revised committee is expected to strengthen coordination efforts and promote balance in the party’s internal processes.
