Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has officially declared his intention to contest the 2027 presidential election, reaffirming his long-standing political ambition.
Speaking on the state of the nation, Atiku said Nigeria has been “consigned to the intensive care unit” due to worsening economic hardship, rising poverty, and widespread suffering.
“I will run in 2027. Nigeria needs to be decisively rescued from the intensive care unit it has been consigned. The degeneration in our country, the level of poverty and pain, the anguish, is unacceptable,” Atiku declared.
He emphasized that his mission is to rebuild the economy, create opportunities for millions of unemployed Nigerians, and restore stability to the nation. Atiku has consistently campaigned on restructuring, economic reforms, and strengthening democratic institutions.
