The respected statesman reportedly collapsed suddenly in his Government House office in Yenagoa and was rushed to the Federal Medical Centre (FMC), Yenagoa, where he was later pronounced dead.
Eyewitness accounts indicate that the 60-year-old deputy governor slumped at around 1:30 p.m. while attending to official duties.
