In a dramatic turn of events at the Federal High Court in Abuja today, the Federal Government officially closed its case against Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), in the ongoing terrorism and treason trial.
After presenting five witnesses, the FG’s lead counsel, Chief Adegboyega Awomolo (SAN), declared that the government had “sufficiently” proven its case and was ready to move on.

“I therefore close the case,”he told the court confidently.
On the other side, Kanu’s legal team—led by Chief Kanu Agabi—has now opted for a no-case submission, signaling that the defence believes the FG has failed to establish a solid case.
All eyes now on the next phase as Mazi Nnamdi Kanu’s legal battle enters a decisive stage.
Case adjourned till 18th July 2025.
Federal government knows quite well that she has no case against Nnamdi Kanu, only trying to rope him into terrorim, but our God is bigger than them, now that they have closed their terrorm case, they should as a matter of urgency release. What’s happening in Nigeria today was what he was shouting in 2017. That Fulani herdsmen terrorists are coming to attack the indigenous people.
