In a sweeping decision aimed at rebuilding cohesion ahead of the 2027 general elections, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has expelled several prominent members for alleged anti-party activities. The announcement was made during the party’s highly anticipated 2025 National Convention taking place in Ibadan, Oyo State.

According to delegates at the convention, the disciplinary action marks a turning point in the party’s attempt to reassert internal discipline after years of internal friction, factional disagreements, and widening ideological divides. Party leaders emphasized that the move became necessary to restore credibility and strengthen the party’s electoral prospects.

An overwhelming majority of delegates ratified the expulsion, signaling broad support for the leadership’s renewed stance against perceived sabotage, misconduct, and activities deemed detrimental to the PDP’s unity.

High-Profile Names Removed from Party Roll

In what has been described as one of the most decisive actions in PDP’s recent history, the party confirmed the expulsion of several influential figures, including:

HE. Nyesom Wike, CON – Former Rivers State Governor and current Minister of the FCT

HE. Ayo Fayose – Former Governor of Ekiti State

Senator Samuel Anyanwu

Hon. Umar Bature

Adeyemi Ajibade, SAN

Mohammed Abdulrahman

Senator Mao Ohuabunwa

Hon. Austin Nwachukwu

Abraham Amah

George Turner

Chief Dan Orbih

Party insiders describe the move as a bold recommitment to discipline, noting that the PDP cannot afford internal sabotage in the lead-up to 2027. The convention leadership reiterated that no individual, regardless of influence or past contributions, is exempt from party rules and collective responsibility.
