The Chikwendu family of Umu Eze Amaogwugwu Ohuhu, Umuahia, alongside the A. O. Chikwendu Foundation, has formally announced the passing of their beloved son, family head, and foundation president, Mr. Azubuike Mbanasor Chikwendu (DSAT).
Mr. Chikwendu, who hailed from the family of Chief (Late) Andrew Ogbonna Chikwendu, departed this life on 5 October 2025 in Umuahia after a brief illness. Until his passing, he served as the Head of the Chikwendu Family and President of the A. O. Chikwendu Foundation, where he was widely respected for his leadership, commitment to community development, and dedication to humanitarian service.

Final Funeral Rites
Date: Tuesday, 30 December 2025
8:30 am: Departure from Madonna Hospital Mortuary, Aba Road, Umuahia, to his hometown, Amaogwugwu Ohuhu, Umuahia, for a brief lying-in-state at his family compound.
Funeral Service:
Officiating Church: Methodist Church, Amaogwugwu Ohuhu
Venue: Community Secondary School, Amaogwugwu
Time: 10:30 am
Interment will take place immediately after the funeral service at his residence in Amaogwugwu Ohuhu.
Thanksgiving Service
Venue: Methodist Church of Nigeria, Amaogwugwu
Time: 10:00 am
Legacy
Mr. Azubuike Mbanasor Chikwendu is survived by one son and grandchildren. He will be remembered for his unwavering dedication to family unity, faith, and the advancement of charitable causes through the A. O. Chikwendu Foundation. His passing marks a profound loss to his family, community, and all whose lives he touched.
