Labour Party denies reports of Governor Alex Otti’s planned defection to APC, reaffirms his commitment to Abia State governance.
The Labour Party, Abia State Chapter, has dismissed as false and misleading the reports alleging that the All Progressives Congress (APC) postponed its congress due to a purported arrangement involving His Excellency, Alex Chioma Otti.
We state clearly and unequivocally that there is no truth to these claims. Governor Otti remains a committed and bona fide member of the Labour Party, the platform under which he was elected and through which he continues to serve the people of Abia State with dedication and integrity.
Since assuming office, Governor Otti has maintained a focused agenda centered on good governance, transparency, accountability, and inclusive development. His administration has recorded measurable progress in key sectors, including infrastructure renewal, healthcare reforms, educational improvements, and economic empowerment initiatives. Several people-oriented projects designed to enhance livelihoods, create opportunities for youths and women, and strengthen the state’s economic base are ongoing and delivering positive outcomes.
It is unfortunate that such unfounded rumors are being circulated at a time when the government is consolidating its developmental strides. The dissemination of unverified information not only distracts from governance but also risks misleading the public.
Governor Otti remains resolute in his commitment to delivering tangible results for Ndi Abia and ensuring that government policies and programs proceed without disruption or needless speculation.
