Operatives of the Department of State Services (DSS) have successfully rescued two pastors and a church member who were abducted by armed bandits during coordinated security operations in Niger and Kaduna States. The operation also led to the arrest of three suspects allegedly involved in an arms and ammunition trafficking network.
According to security sources, the victims were rescued following intelligence-driven operations carried out by DSS personnel across targeted locations in the two states. The swift intervention prevented further harm to the abducted individuals and disrupted the activities of criminal elements operating in the area.
In a related development, the DSS arrested three individuals suspected of supplying weapons and ammunition to criminal groups. Items recovered during the operation are believed to be linked to an illegal arms distribution network that has fueled insecurity in parts of the North-Central and North-West regions.
The latest operation underscores the DSS’s continued efforts to combat kidnapping, banditry, and arms proliferation across the country. Security agencies have reiterated their commitment to strengthening intelligence gathering and collaboration to dismantle criminal networks and enhance public safety.
