The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Benin Zonal Directorate, has arrested Archbishop Angel Oyeghe for alleged involvement in naira abuse, conspiracy, and suspected money laundering.
Oyeghe, the founder of Faith Healing Ministry in Warri, Delta State, was taken into custody on Tuesday, November 18, 2025, after a viral video surfaced showing members of her congregation spraying naira notes on a live cow during a church event reportedly organized under her supervision.

According to the EFCC, the act violates Section 21 of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Act, 2007, which prohibits the mutilation or improper use of the nation’s currency. Investigators say additional suspects seen in the trending video are currently being tracked and will face prosecution.
