Fresh details have emerged in the ongoing trial of Jude Chigozie Okoye, former manager and elder brother of popular music duo Paul and Peter Okoye, as the first prosecution witness testified before the Lagos State High Court sitting in Ikeja.
The prosecution witness, Peter Obumuneme Okoye (PW1), appeared before Justice Rahman Oshodi and disclosed that the wife of the defendant owns a substantial equity stake in Northside Music Limited. According to his testimony, she holds 800,000 shares in the company.
The revelation was made during proceedings in the case being prosecuted by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC). The anti-graft agency confirmed the development in an official statement, noting that the disclosure formed part of the evidence presented by the prosecution.
The trial, which has drawn public attention due to the high-profile figures involved, continues as the court hears further testimony relating to the ownership structure and management of Northside Music Limited.
Justice Oshodi adjourned proceedings to a later date to allow the prosecution continue presenting its case.
