Adamawa State Electoral Commissioner, Suleiman Yahaya Vokna, resigns from ADSIEC to pursue personal interests and thanks the governor for his support.
The Commissioner of the Adamawa State Independent Electoral Commission (ADSIEC), Suleiman Yahaya Vokna, has officially resigned from his position, citing personal reasons and a desire to pursue other interests.
In a personally signed statement released to the media, Vokna announced that his resignation took effect on October 17, 2025, marking the end of his tenure with the state’s electoral body.
“I, Suleiman Yahaya Vokna, hereby formally announce my resignation from the position of Commissioner with the Adamawa State Independent Electoral Commission (ADSIEC), effective 17th October, 2025,” the statement read.

Vokna explained that his decision came after “due reflection,” emphasizing that stepping aside at this time was in the best interest of both himself and the Commission.
He expressed deep gratitude to the Executive Governor of Adamawa State for the confidence reposed in him and for the opportunity to serve, noting that his time at the Commission allowed him to contribute meaningfully to the strengthening of democracy and good governance in the state.
“Throughout my tenure, I have remained steadfast to the core values of integrity, impartiality, and transparency, which underpin the credibility of any electoral institution,” Vokna stated.
He also commended his colleagues at ADSIEC for their professionalism, teamwork, and dedication to upholding the principles of fair and transparent elections.
As he moves on to pursue other endeavors, Vokna extended his best wishes to the state government, the Governor, and the leadership and staff of ADSIEC, hoping for their continued success in promoting democratic ideals in Adamawa State.
