Federal Ministry of Education refutes viral claim of nationwide school closure, urging Nigerians to rely only on verified official information.
The Federal Ministry of Education has issued a firm public warning disassociating itself from a widely circulated social media message claiming that schools across Nigeria were directed to shut down from November 24, 2025. According to the Ministry, the viral announcement is entirely false, misleading, and did not originate from any authorized government or security agency.

In the official statement released on November 22, 2025, the Ministry clarified that neither the Federal Government nor any State Ministry of Education approved such a directive. Citizens are therefore urged to disregard the fabricated message and refrain from spreading unverified claims capable of causing confusion nationwide.
The Ministry emphasized the importance of relying solely on confirmed information communicated through recognized government channels, including:
The Federal Government
The Federal Ministry of Education
State Governments and State Ministries of Education
Recognised security agencies
