In a renewed effort to expand international job opportunities for Nigerian youths, the Federal Government has facilitated the deployment of 39 artisans from Benue State to Belarus.
The initiative, part of Nigeria’s International Job Placement Programme, aims to reduce unemployment and equip young Nigerians with global exposure in skilled trades.

Speaking during the send-off ceremony, the Minister of State for Labour and Employment, Nkeiruka Onyejeocha, encouraged the beneficiaries to be exemplary representatives of Nigeria. She emphasized the importance of discipline, hard work, and integrity as they embark on their new professional journey abroad.
Onyejeocha noted that the government remains committed to creating both local and international employment pathways to empower Nigerian youths and enhance the country’s image globally.
The programme, according to officials, underscores the ministry’s collaboration with foreign partners to bridge the skills gap and promote labor mobility through safe and structured migration channels.
Observers say this development reflects a growing trend in Nigeria’s strategic engagement with other countries to harness the potential of its skilled workforce while tackling unemployment domestically.
